To further strengthen the foundations of EU-China IP dialogue platforms and mechanism, IP Key is collaborating with Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) to facilitate exchanges between Chinese government and the EU. MOFCOM will lead one official delegation to visit Europe from 7 -16 November 2016 to capture the features of IP landscape in the EU. The Chinese delegation is comprised of officials from 9 ministries, judges from provincial high court and Beijing IP Court, procurator from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) as well as academic representatives. They will meet with the relevant EU institutions as well as with European industry representatives in Brussels, Belgium. The Chinese delegates will also participate to the 19th EU-China IP Working Group meeting on 11 Nov. Meetings are also scheduled with European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) at its headquarter in Alicate, Spain.
In the margin of this visit, the Chinese delegation will participate to the EU-China IP Forum in Queen Mary University of London on 8 Nov.
Following last year’s success in organizing an inter-ministerial Chinese delegation to visit the main EU counterparts, this study visit aims to help Chinese and EU policy-makers and industry stakeholders to keep abreast of each other’s latest development on IP legislation and enforcement, clarify issues of mutual concern and further discussing how to tackle common challenges.
