China-ASEAN Intellectual Property Management and Utilization Seminar, co-hosted by the State Intellectual Property Office(SIPO)and ASEAN Secretariat, was held on July 4. He Zhimin, vice president of the SIPO, attended the seminar and made a speech.
He said, “SIPO has been paying much attention to the cordial cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat and the member states. Since 2005, SIPO has organized trainings and seminars on IP through the China-ASEAN Fund on Investment Cooperation and achieved positive feedback. SIPO hopes facilitating mutual understandings of IP system and best practice among countries in this region and promoting experience and information sharing through these activities.”
“ASEAN is a key regional organization in Asia. China and ASEAN countries have deepened cooperation in the area of IP and scored remarkable achievements since the ‘One Belt and One Road’ initiative won active response from ASEAN,” he underscored. The Seminar aimed to made in-depth exchanges with ASEAN countries in terms of IP management and utilization.
Representatives discussed nine themes from IP license to technology transfer contracts during the four-day Seminar. Officials from ASEAN secretariat and IP authority departments of ASEAN countries, experts from related organizations as well as representatives from the SIPO departments and IP industry in China attended the seminar.
