Recently, the “One Belt and One Road” Institute for IPR and Innovative Developments was launched in Chongqing University of Technology. Yuan Jie, director of Chongqing Intellectual Property Office, and Shi Xiaohui, president of Chongqing University of Technology, attended the launch ceremony.
The Institute was jointly established by Chongqing Intellectual Property Office, Chongqing University of Technology and Queen Mary University of London. It planned to make use of its regional advantages along the “One Belt and One Road” and economic belt along the Yangtze river and the strength as the training base of national IPR. It aimed to cultivate top talents with international vision, establish influential platforms for academic exchanges and build a top-level think tank for IPR and innovative developments research through actively cooperating with Queen Mary University of London, thereby providing IPR guarantees for the industries in Chongqing and its surrounding areas. Furthermore, it could contribute to China’s “One Belt and One Road” strategy through creating positive environments for IPR research, exchanges, protection and cooperation.
At the launch ceremony, Chongqing Intellectual Property Office and Chongqing University of Technology signed the Intellectual Property Rights Strategic Cooperation Agreement during the 13th Five-Year Period.
