First E-Commerce Platform for IPR Protection System in Jiangsu Started Operation

Recently, the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province and Suning jointly inaugurated the Suning IPR Protection Center. This was the first full-function e-commerce platform for IPR protection system which started to operate in Jiangsu.

Suning IPR Protection Center could provide full-process, convenient and transparent IPR report and complaint services for patent, trademark and copyright holders while complicated cases could also be transferred to Jiangsu Intellectual Property Public Service Platform for handling. As a leading e-commerce enterprise in Jiangsu, Suning was the first unit that undertook IPR protection projects of the e-commerce platform launched by the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province. The IPR protection project starting to operate this time marked further development and improvement of achieved results.

The Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province began to establish the IPR protection projects of the e-commerce platform in 2015. It asked the e-commerce platform to establish IPR management organization and mechanism, build IPR information management system and improve IPR report and complaint system. Currently, seven local e-commerce platforms had assumed the project. The Intellectual Property Office of Jiangsu Province planned to strengthen the guidance and services in handling IPR infringement complaints through cooperating with Suning and other well-known brands in Jiangsu to explore a unique path for e-commerce IPR protection.
