What: Registration has officially opened for the International Trademark Association’s 2017 Annual Meeting—the world’s largest gathering of trademark professionals. We expect over 9,500 registrants from more than 140 countries to participate in this year’s meeting. The Annual Meeting features extensive learning opportunities with over 300 customized educational opportunities and 30+ INTA-hosted networking events available to all meeting registrants.
Who: INTA is the global association of trademark owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce. Members include more than 7,000 trademark owners, professionals, and academics from more than 190 countries, who benefit from the Association’s global trademark resources, policy development, education, and training, and international network. Founded in 1878, INTA is headquartered in New York City, with offices in Brussels, Shanghai, Singapore, and Washington, D.C., and representatives in Geneva and New Delhi.
Why: This year’s program features over 300 customized educational sessions, 35 general educational sessions, more than 225 table topics, users’ group meetings with leaders from several national and regional trademark offices, and more. The program covers pertinent trademark-related topics including anticounterfeiting, data protection, new gTLDs, social media, and trademark protection in regional trade agreements.
Who is attending? At this year’s Annual Meeting, INTA expects over 9,500 trademark and other IP professionals, brand management professionals, C-level executives, general counsel, government and IP office officials, editorial contributors, academics, and judges from over 140 countries to participate in the meeting.
